From November 5 to 10, 2024, the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. With the theme of "Global Vision, Local Connections - Innovation and Opportunities Toward 2025", GL events presented its three core businesses in the Trade in Services section (Hall 8.2, Booth C2-01), showcasingits expertise in "Glocal (Global+Local) " strategy.
Glocal Strategy Continues to Deepen, Opening a New Chapter in Chinese Market
Since its first participation in the CIIE in 2019, GL events, with its global localization strategy, has been actively exploring strategies based on the Chinese market while possessing rich international background resources. By continuously deepening localized operations, the group has achieved the implementation of many innovative results. At this year's CIIE, GL events exhibited many case studies from its three divisions : LIVE , VENUES and EXHIBITIONS, comprehensively demonstrating the group's innovative breakthroughs and service commitments in China.
On the morning of November 6, Ms. Inès Ginon, President of GL events Greater China, delivered a welcome speech and shared how the Group responded quickly to market changes and a brand-new business pattern on the theme of new environment and new opportunities.

During the event, government leaders and a delegation from the French Consulate visited the booth for a guided tour and to explore new opportunities for cooperation. Between November 6th and 7th, Wu Jincheng, Mayor of Pudong New Area, and his delegation visited the GL events booth to discuss in detail the Group's core businesses and services, investment plans, project progress and other exhibition information. Ms. Wei Lan, Deputy District Mayor of Xuhui District People's Government of Shanghai, led a delegation to visit the booth to learn about the Group's operating model, market expansion, future plans and other content. A Number of Major Announcements: Two Major Venue and New Programs
The launch of the two brand new venue projects has become one of the highlights of GL events at the CIIE. Mr. Ji Qing, Deputy General Manager of Greater China Venue Management Section and Executive General Manager as for the second phase of China’s National Exhibition Center, introduced the overall layout plan of the venue and the intelligent management system from the perspective of the project manager.
Mr. Zhang Kai, General Manager of GL events CCI Guangzhou Development Co.,ltd. gave a speech entitled “Guangzhou's New MICE Power: Double Pavilions in One Exhibition, New Chapter in the Bay Area”, focusing on the construction and launch of the Guangzhou Aerotropolis Expo Center (GAEC) project. In the future, the launch and use of the Phase II Project of Beijing New International Exhibition Center and Guangzhou Aerotropolis Expo Center will not only provide first-class facilities and services for various large-scale events and conferences, but will also further contribute to the sustainable development of China's MICE industry.
As one of the three core businesses of the Group, the exhibition organizing section also brought a brand-new work on the site of the CIIE. Fashion Source Shenzhen will be held in Shanghai for the first time in 2025. By 2023, the proportion of renewable energy used by GL events will reach 73%, overall carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 6% year-on-year, and the total energy consumption of 80% of its venues will be reduced by more than 30%.
