On November 8, GL events Group ("GL events") made the Asian debut of "Digital Carbon Neutrality" Solutions for MICE Cities at the New Products & Services Launching Center of the Fourth China International Import Expo, dedicating to accelerate the industry transformation to green and intelligent, improve the level of exhibition services, and achieve green and efficient management and operations of the exhibition industry. With the corporate’s advantages of global resources and network, it will help cities to build into international events, activities and exhibition destinations, and empower cities to build a better one.

In view of this, GL events launched the Digital Carbon Neutrality Solution for MICE Cities, hoping to take advantage of the highly open platform provided by CIIE to keep more clients aware of the new ideas for sustainable development of MICE Cities.
Mr. Jor ZHOU, CEO of GL events China, shared that in recent years, GL events has been increasing its investment in technology to bring customers better experiences and propel effects of events and exhibitions. To improve the internal-and-cross-industry communication, on Nov 6 and Nov 7, GL events launched 4 sessions of hybrid “G-Lounge Talk”, by inviting Mr. ZHOU Yiwei, General Manager of BCG Exhibitions & Events, Mr. YANG Shengxin, Marketing Director of AS Monaco Football Club China, Mr. YANG Bo, Deputy General Manager of Unilumin Sports, Ms. LU Min, SGS Knowledge Sustainability Solutions Product Manager of SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ltd., Mr. FAN Songhe, General Manager of Guangzhou Yuexiu International Convention Center, Ms. SUN Qixian, Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs of Weber Shandwick China, and Mr. CAO Jing, General Manager of China National Sports International, from the four perspectives of "ecological development, branding influence, visionary power and MICE cities’ competitiveness", to jointly explore the opportunities and challenges of the development of the MICE industry, new trends of brand marketing, green and smart venues management and sustainable competitiveness of cities in the post-epidemic era.
In the afternoon of Nov 6, French ambassador to China Mr. Laurent Bili and Consul General of France in Shanghai Mr. Benoit Guidée, together with the delegation group visited GL events booth. Ms. Inès GINON introduced the 3 core businesses and Mr. Laurent Bili affirmed the development of GL events in China over the past 15 years.
During the exhibition, we also welcomed government clients including Qingdao Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Tianjin Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Shanxi Construction & Investment, Xiamen Bureau of Commerce, Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Qingpu District Administrative Committee, Lujiazui Financial City Development Board, Australia China Chamber of Commerce, International Civil Defense Coordination Agency, and MICE Industry Association, as well as representatives of other enterprises such as Vale, Junfa Group, SGS, Shenyang New World Expo, etc.
In response to the theme of the CIIE, “One Step Forward to Protect the Earth" donation campaign was launched on the exhibition opening day. On the third day, 5 million steps of donations was successfully raised, and donation target was achieved for the guardianship of clean water and blue sky.
Participating in the CIIE for three consecutive years, GL events has "new changes" each time. For the first year, the corporate’s 3 core businesses were introduced and promoted. In the second year, the exhibition area was expanded by nearly 70%, and the solution for the development of MICE cities under the pattern of "dual circulation" was officially launched. And this year, the Digital Carbon Neutrality Solutions for MICE Cities Development unveiled on CIIE’s launching center, together with the LIVE program of “G-Lounge Talk”, are the latest localized measurements based on the insight into the Chinese market and the construction of industrial ecology.
